Great story. Love my Chromag bear!
I agree 100% that cup and cone have less rolling resisitance. I ride a center lock XTR in the rear and it spins smoother and longer than hubs twice the price. I ride in the wet a lot, and have no problems with seals or contamination.
I disagree. You build with no slop. IE no lateral play. If you lock the cone into place by backing it into the lock nut, a quick release will not put additional preload on the bearings. The only thing leaving play does is create gaps in the seals, and a lose feeling.
Davidt....I've had nothing but great experiences with Fanatik. Actually I couldn't be happier with thier selection, pricing, and customer service. Sucks that you had a bad experience. It seems that if mechanics, and sales dudes are giving you parts off of thier personal bikes they are trying very hard to make it right for you.
Other than updated size specs I think I'm missing why this bike is cool? It looks just like every other Orange. Placement of the Pivot makes me think it would be a pogo stick, the tubing is old school.. Just not feeling it.
Didn't even read the article, just stoked to hear that you're back on the bike. Awesome.
Yea I agree. I was reading RC in early 90's, and it feels like he's stuck in that era. Doesn't seem like a great Pinkbike fit to me. I will give the benefit of the doubt and hope he proves me wrong.
I'm suprised by the SRAM vs. Shimano market share numbers. I ran SRAM for a while and it's okay but the Saint stuff is way better.
